This Summer, we’re looking for a Motion Design Intern who lives at the intersection of motion design and visual storytelling, with a strong interest in brand, marketing, and content creation. This role sits within our Motion Design team but supports the Propaganda Department which is critical in shaping how LOS YORK and our creative campaigns show up in the world. However, there will also be an opportunity to support other creative projects in the shop.

You’ll work closely with designers, creatives and storytellers to translate finished projects into case films, social content, process stories and presentation assets that showcase the thinking, craft, and impact behind the work.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute to real projects, build portfolio-worthy work and gain a behind-the-scenes look at how a creative studio packages and promotes its ideas. It’s about learning by doing, growing quickly and helping “tie the bow” on the work in a way that feels thoughtful, elevated and built to travel.

Responsibilities & Outcomes

Studio StorytellingCollaborate with our Propaganda / Marketing team to help shape how our work is positioned, presented, and shared externally.

Crafting the CaseSupport the creation of case films and process reels that communicate the idea, craft, and impact behind the work.

Process & Documentary StorytellingHelp capture and shape the story behind our projects — translating behind-the-scenes moments, creative exploration, and studio culture into compelling visual content.

Campaign & Social PackagingAdapt and reformat finished work for social and digital platforms, ensuring each piece feels thoughtful, platform-native, and aligned with the story.

Motion That EnhancesUse motion, typography, and transitions to elevate storytelling — bringing clarity, rhythm, and polish to everything you touch.

Design in MotionApply strong fundamentals in layout, composition, and typography, and bring them to life through artful motion design.

Creative CollaborationWork alongside designers, animators, and creative leads — contributing ideas, learning from feedback, and growing within a highly collaborative team.

Core Competencies

Always CuriousWhile your primary interest is motion design and storytelling, you’re eager to learn, experiment, and continuously level up your craft.

Tools of the TradeFamiliar with After Effects and Photoshop, with a foundation in design and motion. Cinema 4D and Figma are a plus.
