Design Director


The Design Director at Los York is responsible for leading the studio on design-driven projects that inspire envy from other studios and attract artists who are compelled to emulate our work, or better still, join our global community.

Your default mode of expression is beautifully curated and crafted design across all mediums. You can expertly move between 2d to 3d, creating and maintaining vision, while expertly managing a team of artists in support of your goals. 

As Design Director you will lead creative efforts directly with brands as well as agencies, working closely with all parties to pioneer a better way of creating, that is collaborative, iterative, inventive, and fun.


Responsibilities and Outcomes:


You know what’s hot and what’s not. You have a pulse on talent, both experienced and up and coming. You have a keen ability to source talent who are focused on creating  groundbreaking work. You take pride in having a network of talent in the design / post production space and people look forward to working with you because of your sparkling reputation.


You make things happen. You are one step ahead, proactively thinking of ways to improve and grow our design / post studio from both a talent and financial perspective. You work with leadership to put plans in place in a timely manner to meet goals and work closely with a support team to execute. Above all, you are driven to create change and make an impact.


You’re able to flex. You have experience managing small / lean projects as well as large, complex projects across multiple platforms, including broadcast, stills, digital, social, and experiential (not a must). Your time will be split between on the box creation and oversight.


You’re eager to build the best studio in the business. Even with a sizable body of award-winning work, we are always a work in progress. You should recognize that your opportunity is to make a mark. To create a new high-water mark for creativity and craft at Los York.


You’re a leader. You will be a leader inside the organization, and a member of the Los York Management team. This includes supporting, mentoring, educating and leading with positive guidance, answering questions, and problem-solving on a daily basis. 


You can fly at different elevations. Given the diversity of project types at Los York, you will need to be adaptable. Working as a project lead in some cases, or in support of another creative lead in others. 


You’re accountable. With support from the Los York leadership team, you will ultimately be accountable for the success of projects, including the delivery of quality projects, achieving financial goals and client satisfaction.


You love the hunt. Working closely with leadership you will identify opportunities that are worth pursuing then build and oversee nimble teams designed to win new business.

High bar. You are capable of developing award-winning design for campaigns, brand systems, motion packages, and films then seeing them all the way through delivery

Now presenting. You are completely comfortable explaining your vision to clients and presenting your ideas with the energy big ideas deserve. You are used to being the primary point of contact throughout a project
